Welcome to Williamsburg: the hip, upstart, intellectual mecca of New York City, the land where people would rather be artists than make art. Brad Saville’s award-winning Williamsburg is a voyeuristic picture about seven artists living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and their comical, usually absurd, intertwining lives.

Brad Saville’s first novel, Grotesque, revolves around the impressionistic journal of Clayton Palmer, a café owner who does not want to be a café owner anymore. Disgusted with the man that he has become and looking for answers, Clayton finds himself rambling down the gauntlet of love, entangled in substance abuse, murder, and deception.

The fourth annual edition of the New York Theater Review continues our exploration of the finest in contemporary NYC alt-theater blended with an ongoing investigation of its colorful and often underrepresented past.
